DTP is an independent, Australian non-government organisation (NGO) providing education in human rights advocacy. Founded by HE José Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Laureate and President of Timor-Leste, it seeks to advance human rights and empower civil society in the Asia-Pacific region through quality training and by building the skills and capacities of advocates.
DTP has trained of over 3,000 human rights defenders from more than 50 countries; runs Annual Regional Human Rights and Peoples' Diplomacy Training Workshops for Asia-Pacific NGO leaders; and has conducted over 90 specific country and thematic trainings in countries including Australia, East Timor, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Our involvement
Good Reason has been involved with DTP since 2008, initially building a bespoke Microsoft Access-based CRM system. Since 2019 we have implemented and now actively develop CiviCRM and related web-based interfaces to help DTP improve efficiencies and expand its online reach.
